Orpiment (PY39 CI#77086)
The name "Orpiment" is derived from the Latin word Auripigmentum, which means gold pigment, referring to its color and historical use as a golden-yellow pigment. This mineral can form unique combinations with bright red Realgar.
Orpiment was used as a pigment in ancient times but was replaced due to its toxicity.
