Gum arabic solution for watercolor making is a binder made from the sap of acacia trees and mixed ingredients.
It binds pigment together and adheres the paint to the paper surface. It allows the finished products, watercolors, for easy re-wetting and reactivation of dried paint.
Ingredients:
Distilled water, gum arabic, honey, glycerin and perservative.
Color: Light brown
Lifespan: 2 years
How to use ox gall with watercolor:
Mix the prepared binder with dry pigments to create watercolor paint. Start with a small amount and gradually increase until desired consistency is achieved.
More binder: Increases transparency and flow, but may reduce intensity.
Less binder: Increases color intensity but may affect adhesion.
How to store:
Keep prepared binder solution in an airtight container. Refrigerate to extend shelf life.
