What is art jamming?
Art jamming is a recreational activity where individuals or groups gather in a studio-like setting to create their own artwork in a relaxed, guided environment.
● Participants are usually supplied with a canvas, acrylic paints, brushes, and other necessary art supplies.
● While participants paint independently, there's usually an instructor or facilitator available to provide tips, techniques, or assistance if needed.
● Art jamming is designed to be accessible to people of all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced artists.
Enjoying art in a sustainable way
Do you know what is the most unsustainable media in art? The answer is acrylic.
Acrylic paint is essentially liquid plastic. When it dries, it forms a plastic film. When acrylic paint waste is washed down drains, it can contribute to microplastic pollution in water systems.
As a plastic-based product, acrylic paint does not biodegrade, which can lead to long-term environmental issues.
As acrylic paints can absorb volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and water from the environment, which could potentially lead to the accumulation of pollutants over time.
That's why we SAY NO to acrylic paints.
